Putting the Garden to Bed
On Saturday, October 19, members of the Garden Group gathered to put the Cutler Memorial Garden to bed. Leaves were raked, plants were clipped and outdoor furnishings in our worship area covered. And, in a sign of promise, bulbs were planted for the spring. How blessed we are by our garden and by our gardeners!.
News from the ECW
Thank you for generous giving: On Sunday October 6th, we collected $168 towards the purchase of livestock through Episcopal Relief and Development. We may be donating a flock of chickens to a family for their sustenance. Donations are still welcome, and we will let you know of where we are sending our gift.
We continue to welcome donations for the St. Luke/San Lucas Episcopal Church Thrift Shop in Chelsea. You can drop them off in the downstairs of the Parish Hall (in the room leading to the church). Thank you!
Garden Group Annual Holiday Evergreens Sale
The Garden Group announces our annual sale of fresh Holiday Evergreens from the far reaches of cold crisp Northern Minnesota! Please consider taking an order form (available in the kitchen) and share this opportunity with your friends, family, neighbors. Orders can be taken by any member of the Garden Group and a sign-up sheet will be in the kitchen during coffee hour. Orders can also be called into Maureen Lavely, 617-242-3868. Take a look at the sample wreath in the kitchen. It’s the very popular Victorian Wreath. But there are items other than wreaths. Consider a candlelit centerpiece, a living tree, or two different lengths of garland.
Orders will be taken the next three Sundays ONLY! The order must be placed by November 1st with delivery to St. John’s for pickup the week of December 2nd. This is our major fundraiser for the maintenance of the garden and we greatly appreciate your support.
