Serving St. Luke’s/San Lucas

Almost every week, members of the ECW (Episcopal Church Women) bring clothing and gently used goods donated by parishioners to St. Luke’s/San Lucas Episcopal Church in Chelsea. St. Luke’s has  a Food Pantry and Thrift Shop serving many in the Chelsea IMG_0453community, and our donations are much appreciated. At right, ECW members Rosemary Kverek and Maureen Lavely greet parishoners and the rector, Father Edgar Guiterrez-Duarte, after dropping off goods from the recent Sidewalk Sale.

St. John’s Garden update — 5/7/2013

Last night, Francie, Jake and I reseeded the lawn. Hoping this mixture repairs those bare spots. Until it rains, we need to water daily for a week. Francie is planning to go today. Lets keep an eye on the forecast.

Heidi stopped by – she has a short list of shrubs to present for the walkway. They are in the rose family. Stay tuned.

Adrienne worked the back and we are getting there. We need to clean out that compost (all those branches) in the rear. This will take some time. Adrienne left some lawn bags.

I think we can plan to power wash on Monday, May 20th. Thanks to Kathleen for letting us use her power wash.

Thank you Garden Group!

The Garden Group had an abundance of wonderful treats available at Coffee Hour last Sunday. Thank you to the members for making coffee hour a real treat. The Garden Group thanks everyone who helped make the plant sale a successful fundraiser.

And looking ahead…Consider “stowing it” instead of “throwing it”. The women of ECW and the Garden Group are joining together to sponsor a Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, April 27th, starting at 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. We invite you to save donations of stuff and to offer time to help at the sale. Especially appreciated will be help to set out tables and items. More information closer to the event.

“Gently Used” Clothing for St. Luke’s in Chelsea

St. John’s ECW has been collecting gently used clothing for children, men and women, and donating them to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Chelsea. The rector, Father Edgar, is very appreciative of all the donations we bring over.

The clothes are sold on Saturdays in the church’s store. Besides clothing, kitchen items, shoes, boots and games, toys and books are needed. Donations can be brought to St. John’s on Sunday mornings, as well as Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 11.
