Though we may have been “marching to Zion” as we processed out of church on Sunday, we actually made our way down to the basements of the Parish House and church for the blessing of our new heating system. Bishop Bud Cederholm was with us to preach that morning, commending St. John’s for taking such a significant step in reducing our carbon footprint. Members of the Creation Care Team, the contractors from Atlantic Heating and Air Conditioning, and the vestry were recognnized and thanked during the service. Once downstairs, Bishop Bud invited our children to join him in blessing the various elements of our new system, and then suggested they bless all those gathered in our own “catacombs” before we returned upstairs for a festive Coffee Hour. Thank you to everyone who contributed to a joyful and toasty warm day!
