Rector’s Open House

This Sunday, March 10, 3-6 pm

Tom and Thomas invite you to their home in Winchester this Sunday March 10, for an Open House. The address is 29 Lakeview Road, and directions will be available at church or by calling the church office.

If traveling by train: The rectory is across the street from the Wedgemere stop on the Lowell Commuter line of the T. A train departs North Station at 4 pm (getting to Winchester at 4:15) and there is a train returning to North Station at 5:28.

Several folks have expressed interest in getting a ride from Charlestown to the Open House. If you can provide transportation, please leave a message at the church office, and we will be in touch about details. Thank you!

Workshops for Green Grants and Mission Grants

As a result of the Together Now Campaign, the diocese will be offering more funds for church’s involved in mission and in making their buildings more sustainable and energy efficient. There will be workshops on Saturday, March 16th at Christ Church in Cambridge. Attendance at these sessions is a prerequisite for applying for grants. The rector and several others from St. John’s will be attending. Please contact him if you have an interest in either the area of mission or environmental sustainability.

Save the Date: Parish House Cleanup on Saturday, March 23rd

The Vestry is planning a spring cleaning for many of the storage spaces, closets, and rooms of the Parish House on Saturday, March 23rd.

In addition to a general spring cleaning, we are going to be reconfiguring some space, with plans being made to turn the closet to the right of the stage upstairs into a workroom and storage area. If you have things that are currently stored in that area, please think about essential items and help us identify them.

We’ll meet at 12:30 for some pizza, and then get to the spring cleaning. All are welcome to join in sorting and sifting, and we hope to be done by around 3.
