This Thursday, Louis Dominique, one of our members who faithfully attends the 8 o’clock service, will be going to Faneuil Hall. There he will say some words, sign some papers, receive a document, and, after a long and arduous process, become a US citizen. And after that day, so much in his life will be different. It will be a day of great joy for him, and he will have all the rights and responsibilities that citizenship entails. Continue reading

A new season in our life together is upon us, the 40 days of Lent. The church modeled this time of preparation for Easter on the experience of Jesus’ 40 days in the wilderness. So it is that on this first Sunday of the season, you might say that we have the landscape of Lent before us: a wilderness into which we are invited to journey, to fast and pray, even as Jesus once did.
